FALD: Full Array Local Dimming
Distec offers the high-quality FALD displays from Lincoln Technology Solutions (LTS). With Full Array Local Dimming technology, the active display surface is backed by a large number of LEDs that are divided into many small areas. Each area is individually controlled so that the backlighting optimally matches the displayed content.
This results in many advantages:
- Uniform light distribution
- Complete dimming of individual areas possible, resulting in a true black (similar to OLED) and a very high-contrast image
- No grey haze in dark areas or light rings around very bright image areas
- Compared to TFT displays without FALD technology: lower power consumption and less heat generation at the same brightness level
- Excellent picture quality and perfect readability even in direct sunlight
- Extremely high contrast ratio of up to 10,000,000:1 and high brightness
- Very wide colour gamut (>100% DCI P3)
Currently we offer the LCD121-070CTL1ARNTTR0.2 a 7" display with FALD technology. In addition, a 13.3" FALD display is also available from LTS and many other sizes are in preparation.

Yes, it is even possible to achieve a contrast ratio of more than 1,000,000:1 because the display is powered by LTS's FALD (Full Array Local Dimming) backlight technology.
How about 2500 cd/m²? There are different versions of the 7" TFT display and one of them offers a brightness of 2500cd/m².
